The Mission Impossible franchise has been around for a while now and with this fourth installment, it seems as though they might finally be running out of ideas. The plot thickens with more twists and turns than the average spy thriller, but one thing is for sure – the film features some of Tom Cruise’s best work in recent years.

A Review of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
Mission Impossible is one of my favorite movie series. But I have to say, fourth time’s the charm for Mission Impossible. This latest installment was great. It had a great story, great action, and great humor. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie if you are a fan of the Mission Impossible series.
The Story So Far
The new Mission Impossible movie is finally here and we thought we’d give you a review of it so far. The fourth time’s the charm, right?
The movie starts off with Tom Cruise going on a wild motorcycle ride and jumping out of an airplane without a parachute. It’s pretty impressive, I have to say. But then he gets killed in the motorcycle crash and Ethan Hunt has to pick up the slack.
Ethan is now a cold, ruthless operative who has no qualms about killing anyone if it means completing his missions. He also has help from his new partner, Henry Cavill’s character, Luther Stickell. Luther is a badass CIA agent who is also very good at acrobatics and martial arts. Together, they form an unstoppable team.
So far, so good. The story seems to be flowing smoothly and the action is top notch. But there are some minor problems with the movie that we need to address. For one thing, there are way too many scenes where Ethan talks on the phone or meets with his superiors while on assignment.
What Went Right?
Fourth time’s the charm, or so they say. As Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt campaigns to save the world a fourth time from impossible odds, there are plenty of things that went right with Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
First and foremost, Cruise is back in top form as the daredevil agent. He effortlessly sells the action and suspense of his scenes, whether it’s scaling a building in under five minutes or dealing with a sniper on an airplane.
Behind Cruise is a terrific supporting cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson as his partner-in-crime, Ving Rhames as the seasoned agent Luther Stickell and Alec Baldwin as CIA boss Alan Hunley. All three give strong performances that help make the movie feel like a cohesive unit.
Director Christopher McQuarrie also deserves credit for keeping things moving at a brisk pace. There’s never a dull moment here, and even the slower moments are entertaining enough thanks to some clever writing and well-choreographed action sequences.
In short, Mission: Impossible – Fallout is another successful installment in the iconic spy series. With great acting, direction and pacing, it has everything
The fourth installment of Mission Impossible was met with mixed reviews. Many viewers praised Tom Cruise’s performance, while others found fault with the plot and inconsistencies. Some common complaints included a lack of action, implausible stunts and an unfulfilled ending.
While some plot holes may be forgivable given the movie’s lengthy running time, other inconsistencies leave one to question the filmmakers’ judgement. For example, why would Ethan Hunt choose to go back in time instead of using his resources to stop the bombs from detonating? Furthermore, how could Hendricks know about Hunt’s plan if he had only just been recruited? These plot points call into question the plausibility of the story and its characters.
Although some faults may be attributable to uneven execution, others suggest that something went wrong with the overall design of Mission Impossible 4. The decision to focus primarily on exposition rather than action may have resulted in a largely unsatisfying experience for moviegoers. If audiences are not engaged from the outset, it is difficult for them to invest in the characters or care about the plot. In short,Mission Impossible 4 failed because it did not live up to expectations set by its predecessors.
It was a good thing that Tom Cruise wasn’t really trying to kill anyone this time around. The fourth Mission Impossible movie felt like it dragged on for far too long, and by the end there was very little action going on. The plot was ridiculous, and some of the acting was pretty subpar. All in all, Mission: Impossible – Fallout wasn’t great.
